Tsuchiya Koitsu – Bush Warbler (Mitsugiri)

Original woodblock print. The first edition of this design was published in 1940. The current print was printed between 1981 and 1995.

The current woodblock print is of Mitsugiri format. There is also a (bigger) Oban-sized woodblock print that can be found here.

Image size (excluding margins): 34.8 * 17.3 cm (13.7 * 6.8 in).

The print is in excellent condition.

Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949) was a Japanese woodblock print artist. He is known for his high-quality Shin hanga prints, excelling in the depiction of light and shadow and the expression of mood.
