Description

Here Kawase Hasui shows snow covering Kiyomizudera in spring. A number of people are present, some hardly visible within the building itself, emphasizing the scale and height of the temple. Further away, other buildings of the wider temple complex are still vaguely discernible through the falling snow. The Kiyomizu-dera temple has inspired woodblock print artists to this day. Its uniqueness and elaborate structure make it especially suitable for impressive prints, such as the current one.
