Description
Two women cross a bridge over the Edo River on a winter evening, protected with umbrellas against calm snowfall. Variants of this design are known. A well-known variant is completely in tones of white and blue, but here the multicolored version is shown. Kawase Hasui displayed a wide variety of themes, but together with night landscapes, winter scenes such as this one were among his specialties.
