Tsuchiya Koitsu – Kinkakuji or Golden Pavilion in Kyoto
Japanese woodblock print. The first edition of this design was published circa 1935.
The first editions of this design feature the Golden Pavilion without golden leaf, as it often was due to the golden leaf slowly deteriorating over time. The current design is a much later edition, and depicts the gold again, and added the golden reflection in the water.
There are many differences and the current design is probably from recarved blocks.
Image size (excluding margins): 13.8 * 9.1 cm (5.4 * 3.6 in).
The print is in excellent condition.
The pictures shown here are from the print itself.
