Ono Shigeyuki (fl. 1930s) was a Japanese woodblock print artist about whose life very little is known. Unless further research uncovers more, all we know about him comes from only a couple of woodblock print designs made circa the 1930s.
Ono Shigeyuki (fl. 1930s) was a Japanese woodblock print artist about whose life very little is known. Unless further research uncovers more, all we know about him comes from only a couple of woodblock print designs made circa the 1930s. Based on these, it is likely that he was a painter who was later asked by the publisher Nishinomiya to design a number of prints. These turned out to be similar in style to those of Gesso Yoshimoto, who was active for the same publisher. The designs are all quite different but share the theme of endearing birds in nature, often surrounded by flowers.
