Description
Instead of the more common sunset skies above villages or traditional Japanese rooftops, here Nishijima Katsuyuki depicts the sunset glow above a mountain ridge, partly shining through the silhouettes of trees on the top of the ridge. The colorful last moments of daylight contrast sharply with the mountain already cloaked in darkness.
