Description
A calm village street, leading to a small bridge. The trees and soft sunlight suggest spring, or perhaps the beginning of summer. The noren in the door of the building in the back seem to move gently in the wind, perhaps to the background of the woodblock print title Color of Wind. For some, the scene might invite a walk through the village. Typical for Nishijima's woodblock prints, however, no one is there to be seen, leaving it to the viewer of the print to enjoy the beauty and stillness of the scene he has created.
