Koho Shoda – A River in the Rain

Original woodblock print. The first edition of this design was published circa 1930. The current print was printed in the Showa period (1926 – 1989).

Image size (excluding margins): 23.0 * 35.9 cm (9.1 * 14.1 in).

The print is in good state. There is a small irregularity in the paper in the centre sky. The paper has aged and there is some soiling on the outer edges.

Koho Shoda (1871 – 1946) was a Japanese woodblock print artist. His prints exemplified the spirit of the Shin-hanga movement and are widely sought after to this day.
