Tsuchiya Koitsu – Evening Glow at Lake Sai

Original woodblock print. The first edition of this design was published in 1938. The current print was printed circa 1960.

Image size (excluding margins): 24.0 * 36.3 cm (9.4 * 14.3 in).

The print is in very good state. There are mild wrinkles and faint spots in the margins. The paper has aged somewhat. On the back a faint note written in pencil is visible.

Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949) was a Japanese woodblock print artist. He is known for his high-quality Shin hanga prints, excelling in the depiction of light and shadow and the expression of mood.
