Tsuchiya Koitsu – Castle in Nagoya

Original woodblock print. The first edition of this design was published in 1937. The current print was after 1960.

Image size (excluding margins): 39.3 * 26.0 cm (15.5 * 10.2 in).

The print is in very good state. There is a pinhole in the margin, remnants of a previous mounting on the back and possibly very faint browning below the upper tree leafs.

Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949) was a Japanese woodblock print artist. He is known for his high-quality Shin hanga prints, excelling in the depiction of light and shadow and the expression of mood.
