Ohara Koson – Mallards in a Coastal Scene

Original woodblock print. The first edition of this design was published in 1931. The current print was printed in the 20th century, 2nd half.

Mallard in a Coastal Scene is considered an unusual print for Ohara Koson as it depicts a landscape without strict focus on the mallard ducks present.

Image size (excluding margins): 36.3 * 23.5 cm (14.3 * 9.3 in).

The print is in fair state. There is matburn and mild browning in the image. The paper has aged, is slightly wavy, especially in the margins, and has a pinhole in the top left corner. On the back remnants of a previous mounting remain.
