Nishida Tadashige – Cow (Scud)

Original woodblock print, hand-signed and numbered 14/80 by the artist. First published in 1985.

The image has no clearly delined boundaries. From the top to the bottom of the cows it measures about 33 cm and from the leftmost part to the rightmost part of the cows it measures 41 cm (13 x 16 in).

There are wrinkles throughout the paper, including wrinkles leading up right to the cows.

Nishida Tadashige (b. 1942) is a famous Japanese woodblock print artist. His cat prints is what he is best known for, of which you can find many below. These are all high quality woodblock prints, hand-signed by the artist in limited editions. Though subjective, the cat prints are often considered remarkable in the way they succeed in conveying the different moods and characters of the cats shown.
