Nishida Tadashige – Cat and Sakura

Original woodblock print. The first edition of this design was published in 2013. From 2013.

This print combines Nishida Tadashige’s specialty, cats, with that of some other woodblock artists, cherry blossoms (sakura). Like with his cats, Nishida Tadashige seems to need only a few lines to capture the sakura, some of its blossoms slowly raining down towards the two cats below it.

The condition of the print is excellent, but that is a small spot on the left above the image where the paper is damaged. This is not in the image itself, but is shown here in a separate picture for the sake of completeness.

Image size (excluding margins): 37.5 * 24.3 cm.

The print is in very good state. There are wrinkles in the margin. There is a slight printing imperfection above the cats, a tiny blue dot.
