Kawase Hasui – Hama-cho River-bank (Hasui Kawase – Hamachogashi)
Original woodblock print. The first edition of this design was published in 1925. The current print was printed in the Reiwa period (2019 – present).
A quiet morning with a boat sailing out from Hamamachi. Like in a few other prints of Kawase Hasui it is clear that the scene is depicted in modern times, with not just a wagen but also a car standing on the quay beneath telephone poles. Still the scene radiates calmness and quietness, with only a few people around as the sun announces the start of a new day.
Image size (excluding margins): 33.5 * 22.5 cm (13.2 * 8.9 in).
The print is in excellent condition.
The pictures shown here are from the print itself.
