Kawarazaki Shodo – Loquat (Shodo Kawarazaki – Biwa)

Original woodblock print. The first edition of this design was published in 1960. The current print is from the first edition.

Image size (excluding margins): 36.7 * 24.5 cm (14.4 * 9.6 in).

The print is in very good state and still in its original folder. The folder shows signs of aging and foxing spots. The print is also wrinkled at two places where it is attached to the folder, as is common with Kawarazaki Shodo first editions.

Kawarazaki Shodo (1889-1973) was a painter and woodblock artist. He designed many flower prints for publisher Unsodo, that are still popular today.
