Katsushika Hokusai – Fuji under Clear Clouds
Woodblock print (reprint). The first edition of this design was published circa 1834. The current print was printed in the Showa period (1926 – 1989).
Fuji under Clear Clouds” is among Katsushika Hokusai’s most impressive designs featuring Mount Fuji. It was originally published in the three book series “One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji”.
As the original editions were published as part of a book series, the image was split across two pages. The current print is a reprint from newly carved blocks in the 20th century, and it shows the full design on a single sheet.
Image size (excluding margins): 36.9 * 23.9 cm (14.5 * 9.4 in).
The print is in good state, but with signs of aging.
The pictures shown here are from the print itself.
