Eiichi Kotozuka – Large torch at Nigatsu-do Temple
Original woodblock print. The first edition of this design was published circa 1950. The current print was printed in the 20th century, 2nd half.
Image size (excluding margins): 39.7 * 26.5 cm (15.6 * 10.4 in).
The print is in fair state. The image itself has been preserved very well, and the print is still attached to the original presentation, but as often with prints by Eiichi Kotozuka it might have become acidic and had a bad effect on the print. This can be seen in the margins, where there are many foxing spot, as well as a number on the back. Acid-free paper has been inserted between the print and the folder to prevent further damage, or one could opt to remove the print from the folder entirely.
The pictures shown here are from the print itself.
